Whitehead Confident of Home Form

Sunderland captain Dean Whitehead is confident our home support can help roar us on to some more good home performances.

Whitehead told safc.com "The fans have been great this season and it's no coincidence that we have a good home record."

"There have been times in the past when we have not been as confident as we should have been playing at home but it's different now, we think we can give anyone a game on our own patch."

"There are times when the fans have to be patient and they have been, we could not have asked for better support."

"Sunday's game appears to be tough but with a big crowd behind us we believe we can win."

"We're starting to get our injured players back and I think it will make a difference."

Vital Sunderland Says

Its easy to say our home form is better than our away form when we haven`t won a game away from home this season. However I think Whitehead is spot on about our tremendous home support helping our home form. I defiantly think it makes a difference getting behind the lads on match day.
