Flash Gordon

Goalkeeper Craig Gordon claimed his highest score of the season in The Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Barclays Premier League, after helping Sunderland to a 1-0 win at Aston Villa.

The Scotland international kept a clean sheet making 10 saves as the Black Cats registered their first victory away from home in the league this season to move four points clear of the relegation zone.

Gordon`s season-high score of 23 was the joint-best total for a goalkeeper this week - tied with Blackburn Rovers` Brad Friedel - and it moved him 12 places to 97th in the Index with 258 points.

He is the only Sunderland player in the top 100, striker Kenwyne Jones (210 points) the next highest in 145th place.

Analysis of all Premier League games is taking place throughout the season and the players in the Actim Index Team of the Week are:

Name, Team, Overall Ranking, Overall Index Score

Carlo Cudicini, Chelsea, 257th, 119

Andre Bikey, Reading, 188th, 171

Jonathan Woodgate, Tottenham Hotspur, 115th, 238

Wes Brown, Manchester United, 20th, 413

John Terry, Chelsea, 150th, 205

Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United, 1st, 643

Joe Cole, Chelsea, 22nd, 410

David Bentley, Blackburn Rovers, 9th, 473

Geremi, Newcastle United, 184th, 174

Didier Drogba, Chelsea, 121st, 230

Roque Santa Cruz, Blackburn Rovers, 5th, 496

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.
