Evans open to Sunderland switch

Manchester Utd`s on loan defender Jonny Evans has told of his desire to move to Sunderland permanently should Manchester Utd not want the young centre back.

Evans who is in his second load spell at the Stadium of Light told The Sunderland Echo 'United is the club I support and to have the chance to make it there is still a great opportunity that no player surrenders easily. But if I was ever going to leave Man United, Sunderland would definitely be an option for me - if they want me.'

"When Roy Keane says he wants you, it's a massive compliment,"

"If he wanted to make this move permanent, it's something I would want to talk about. Playing in the Premier League in games that matter is what it's all about and what I want to be doing for a few years to come."

"But nothing's been said at all by Sunderland or Man United about anything beyond this season. Everything's very similar to the situation when I was here last season."

"The most important thing at the moment is that we get results and no-one is looking beyond our next game."

Vital Sunderland Says

It would be great to get Evans on a permanent deal but the decision lies with Man U.

Hopefully they will part with him as they already have plenty quality centre backs at the club.
I really can`t see Evans his chance at Man Utd for a run in the first team.

Would be good for you to get him, but Man U might want to keep him for a while longer.
