Sunderland manager Roy Keane was happy with his team`s effort against Arsenal in a game that the Gunners won one nil due to a Theo Walcott goal.
Keane told safc.com "I thought it was a decent game. We played some good stuff, I generally enjoyed the game and we carved out some good chances, we should have scored."
"It shows how well our lads have done when you look at the league - the two teams that came up with us have gone down. You have to praise the players for the job they have done."
"Birmingham and Reading took points from Arsenal and United and look at them, so I'm not too disappointed that we've not taken points against the top teams, that was never going to make or break our season."
"The best team always wins the league, the three worst teams go down. We're the 15th best team and we need to improve the quality of the squad."
"It's going to be an interesting summer, I'm due a meeting with Niall and Peter Walker tomorrow and we'll identify the kind of players we want."
"We have to look at players we think will improve the team but it won't be easy."
"Today we had some good chances late on and it's been a trademark of us this season."
"Can you imagine where we'd be without the last-minute goals?"
"What has kept us in this league is the results against the teams at the bottom."
"We saw the best of Yorkie today, that system suits him. He got a good ovation from the supporters, I think they appreciate what he's done for the club. We'll sit down in the next few days and decide what the future holds for him."
"Jonny Evans was outstanding today. Would I like to bring him to the football club?"
"You bet your life I would. But he's under contract at United and we've got to be respectful to them, their season is not finished."
"You saw 48,000 there today and we've just about kept them happy this season, but, like me, they will want more next season."
"There was a great atmosphere and the players enjoyed showing their appreciation at the end."
Vital Sunderland Says
Keane must have Evans top of his shopping list I would make Man Utd a offer they can`t refuse personally.
