Sunderland Defender signs for the Blades

Sunderland`s Greg Halford has joined Sheffield United on loan for this coming season.

Halford who signed for Roy Keane`s Sunderland last summer from Reading has struggled to hold down a regular first team place at the Stadium of Light and found himself on loan to Charlton for the remainder of last season.

Vital Sunderland Says

Halford has struggled since joining us last year. My opinion is that he is good going forward but struggles with his distribution and defending. Maybe the Championship is the best place for him.

He's never really recovered from his injury after leaving Colchester.

Well if he is given a good run of games at Championship level then he should do ok, but maybe the Premiership is step too far.
