'If It's Football, It's Vital'
Sunderland defender looking forward to competition
Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley is looking forward to more competition for places should Sunderland sign anyone.
Bardsley told The Sunderland Echo "If there's going to be more competition for places I'm sure all of the lads would say, 'bring it on'."
"The squad is a bit light and new faces would be welcome."
"If that means more competition for me, that's the way it goes and it's all good for the club."
"I had a little bit of a cartilage problem that's been cleaned up and I'm fine now,"
"It was an injury that was irritating rather than being a big problem, but it was better to get it sorted out."
"I'm feeling strong and fit now and I'm looking forward to the new season."
