Sunderland defender ready for challenge ahead

Sunderland`s new full back Pascal Chimbonda is ready for the challenge ahead after completing his move from Spurs.

Chimbonda told Sunderland`s official site "I know Sunderland have a good manager and when I came here I saw the training ground and I think it's a good place for me."

"It didn't come as a surprise to me because apart from Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, every club is the same, nobody is bigger."

"Sunderland have good players and hopefully I can play football and enjoy the fans, and everyone is happy!"

"The aim is to stay in the Premier League, but I know the manager wants to progress, play football and win games, and hopefully that will happen."

"I have happy memories of Spurs. They have good fans and it feels like family, but I think it could be the same for me here."

Vital Sunderland Says
Hopefully Chimbonda will settle in quickly and start put in the performances that made him the great player he is.
