Sbragia Steps Down as Sunderland Boss

Sir Niall Quinn has just announced with Ricky Sbragia that the manager has stepped down. Less than half an hour after survival was secured, the Chairman and now former manager have announced the news live on TV.

Sbragia, clearly upset discussing the news, will stay on with the club, with Quinn stating that he has a job for life.

We at Vital Sunderland would like to thank Ricky for keeping us up and are delighted that he will be staying with the club. We will also discuss the managerial situation in the coming days, but at the moment we will be celebrating survival and Newcastle's relegation.

clearly a case of being pushed rather than jumping, the guy look like he was ready to burst into tears when interviewed. although I think it was a certainly he would be moved on, he looked absolutely devestated.
