Crouch bid accepted - Report

Reports published in the Daily Mail today state that Sunderland have had a 12m bid accepted for Peter Crouch.

The paper also reports that owner Ellis Short is willing to meet the 70,000 a week wages demands of the England international striker.

However, The Sun reports that Fulham will move for Crouch as Bobby Zamora looks set to leave the club. Crouch apparently has a preference to stay down south, so could be the front runners for the striker`s signature.

The Daily Mail are also reporting that Steve Bruce is interested in signing Manchester City`s former Newcastle United striker Craig Bellamy. With Emmanuel Adebayor set to move to Eastlands, he will join a squad that has a large number of attackers, including Robinho and new signings Carlos Tevez and Roque Santa Cruz, so Bellamy could be deemed surplus to requirements.

The 30-year-old Welshman joined City in January for 14m and it remains to be seen if Bruce would be willing to offer near that amount.

Can't believe we are selling Crouch. Heaven help us if we keep selling what little we quality we have left. If he does go, I doubt if he will go that far north to you.
