Sunderland set to get Bent

Sunderland set to get Bent

Darren Bent will complete his long awaited move to the Sunderland today in a deal worth £12m up front with a further £2m in add ons.

The England international made very public his desires to move to the Stadium of Light in a string of twitter outbursts, will no doubt illustrate his delight at securing a move north in a 'tweet' later in the day.

Bent will become Sunderland's record signing, eclipsing the £9m paid for Craig Gordon in 2007.

It is rumoured the pacey forward could even make his Sunderland debut in tonights friendly against Peterborough at London Road, lining up alongside fellow newboys Lorik Cana and Fraizer Campbell.

The signing will delight the Sunderland faithful, with many hoping this marquee signing could be the start of more big names willing to move to the north east.
