Preview: Norwich City vs. Sunderland

Sunderland are expected to make many changes to the starting XI for the Carling Cup game against Norwich.

With the Cup match coming only a couple of days after the Blackburn game, Bruce is likely to give many of his stars a rest ahead of the trip to Stoke at the weekend.

Marton Fulop, Lee Cattermole, Lorik Cana and Steed Malbranque were struggling to make the game against Blackburn, so it is doubtful that any of them will play a part against Norwich.

Craig Gordon is likely to come in for Fulop in a host of changes to the line up. Paulo Da Silva and Fraizer Campbell are likely to make their first starts for the club and Nyron Nosworthy, Andy Reid, Grant Leadbitter, Teemu Tainio, Carlos Edwards and David Healy could make their first starts of the season, while Jordan Henderson is likely to return to the side.

Squad: Fulop, Gordon, Carson, Bardsley, Ferdinand, Collins, Nosworthy, Da Silva, McCartney, Cana, Cattermole, Richardson, Reid, Malbranque, Leadbitter, Henderson, Tainio, Edwards, Bent, Jones, Campbell, Healy.
