Cattermole has been a massive loss for Sunderland as they have only won one game in the eight matches he has missed through knee ligament damage.
The good news is that although we need him in the middle of the park desperately he will be lining up for the reserves to make sure he is not rushed back to quickly and make his injury worse.
Steve Bruce will be happy also that Phil Bardsley, Kieran Richardson and John Mensah will all be pushing for call ups as they look to overcome the last minute heartache they endured on Saturday.
Aston Villa have a lot of pace in their squad and our defence will have to be on top form to shut out the 3rd place Midlands team at home. It may be worthwhile leaving Nosworthy on the right hand side of defence and draft in Mensah and Turner to deal with any arial threat posed by Heskey or Carew.
