Quinny went on Goals on Sunday today to show he is united behind his manager and that we are still pulling in the right direction.
The Irish legend slammed the FA for their appeal to overturn Michael Turner's 4 game ban. On the day that Turner received an additional match ban from the FA for a 'frivolous' appeal, the referee's assessor from the game in Manchester said the decision was wrong and should have been a yellow card maximum.
Sir Niall also praised Ricky Sbragia for the fact he kept Sunderland in the Premier league and with the money he saved the club this went towards the signings of Turner and Cattermole this season.
Quinn had to face a lot of awkward questions and also face emails from fans about current transfer speculation. However, the club chairman handled himself excellently and assured a lot of fans that we are still building for the future.
Quinn also said on Kenwyne Jones: 'Kenwyne Jones knows exactly what I think of him. I love him as a footballer. He's got the complete package.
'If things work out for him in the second half of the season, he's vital to us. Behind the scenes agents may be setting up things with football clubs, but it happens today.
'We don't want to get rid of anybody at the football club.'
I cannot think of any other Premier league, yet football league chairman who speaks the truth and speaks from the heart on every occasion. He is the reason we support this club through thick and thin and with his guidance, patience and support we will get back where we belong.
