Young Stars Close To Deals

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has revealed that midfield youngsters David Meyler & Jordan Henderson are close to signing new 5 year deals with the club.

Meyler was signed by Roy Keane in 2008 and has taken advantage of the absences of Lorik Cana & Lee Cattermole recently. Jordan Henderson has had a superb debut Premier League season after impressing on loan at Coventry last term.

Bruce told Sky Sports:

'The pair of them are close to agreeing five-year deals and we are delighted. It's lovely to see two young kids coming through.

'As far as I am concerned, the more the merrier. It's fantastic, it's good to see.'

I would be delighted to tie these two up. They are really holding their own in the Prem this season.
