Impressive Meyler Earns Ireland Call Up

Impressive Meyler Earns Ireland Call Up

David Meyler has came on leaps and bounds for Sunderland this second half of the season and his performances have not gone un-noticed by Ireland boss Trapattoni.

Meyler, 20, who was signed by Roy Keane, has paired up well with Henderson in the middle of the park and has also just recently signed a new deal to keep him on Wearside for another five seasons.

He will join the senior Ireland squad in the Summer for friendlies against Paraguay and Algeria at the end of May.

This is great news for Sunderland as they prepare for their fourth consecutive season in the top flight. With impressive youth players breaking into the squad and National squads we certainly have a bright future.
