Quinn Aims For Early Signings

Sunderland were left frustrated by signings arriving late last season and even some players opting to move elsewhere to leave areas short.

Quinny wants this to change and with the arrival of Riveros and imminent arrivals of Belgium U21 keeper Mignolet and Argentinian Angeleri already signalling their transfer intent.

'In an ideal world, any signing we are going to make should be in before we go to Portugal,' Quinn said. 'Last season, we were trying to do transfer business right up to the end of August, but I'm not going to do that again this year.'

Sunderland head to Portugal in mid July and will be looking to bolster their defence, midfield and striking options before the first game of the season.
