Riveros Rocket Fires Paraguay Closer

After an amazing result against the current World champions Italy last week, Paraguay proved they are no pushover with another steady display and a comfortable 2-0 victory over Slovakia.

Paulo Da Silva captained the South American nation to a massive three points and a clean sheet.

New boy Christian Riveros looks a brilliant player and put in a man-of-the-match performance in the midfield. He became the first Sunderland player to score in a World Cup tournament with a lovely strike from inside the area in the 86th minute.

Steve Bruce will be over the moon with his new purchase looking the real deal in such a big competition and also how well Da Silva seems to have coped against some tricky forward players.

Vital Sunderland wishes our new adopted nation well in their final group game next week against New Zealand.
