Sunderland To Grab Egyptian? **Updated**
Sunderland look to be in pole position to sign Egyptian international Ahmed Al-Muhammadi.
On Monday it was reported that West Brom looked to scupper the Black Cats attempt to bring in the midfielder but it looks like he will turn his back on the newly promoted side.
According to sources and related press, Al-Muhammadi would much prefer to join the Wearside club in a cash deal rather than loan, but this is yet to be confirmed.
It is now down to the clubs to agree a fee and arrange for the Egyptian to travel to England for talks.
In outgoing transfers it looks like keeper` Marton Fulop will be heading to West Brom, a fee has yet to be agreed but many reports have confirmed that the Hungarian has held talks.
West Ham have also shown a firm interest after Robert Green's dismal World Cup appearance.
Update (29/6/10 22:40): Al-Muhammadi's club ENPPI in Egypt have this evening confirmed that the player will sign on loan for £500K for season 2010/11 with an option to buy after that for £2.5M. He will arrive on Wearside for a medical tomorrow.
More good business for Bruce? Time will tell but we are well on our way to getting all of the signings we need before pre-season training kicks off next week.
