In transfer news it has also stepped up a gear as the lads returned to pre season training at the Academy of Light.

Angeleri has started to train with the first team as Steve Bruce looks to tie up the deal once his work permit is granted.

Steve Bruce is also looking to tie up another loan deal for the impressive, yet always injured, John Mensah as talks began today with the Ghana defender.

David Meyler, who is ruled out with a serious knee ligament injury has also returned to light training today. Meyler, 21, trained alone as he stepped up his fitness to try and get back into shape for early next season.

And finally, Sunderland have decided to give the Stadium of Light concourse a facelift by updating many of the kiosks and bars inside the ground.

They are asking all fans to have some input with the names of bars and kiosks by joining the vote process.
