Welbeck In, Murphy Out?

Welbeck In, Murphy Out?

We may finally get to see the end of Daryl Murphy in the next few days as he looks set to join Neil Lennon's Celtic.

The figure being suggested for the Irish midfielder / striker is reported to be in the region of £1.3m, which will make every Sunderland fan smile!

To replace Murphy Bruce has been strongly linked to Danny Welbeck from Manchester United in a loan move to the Stadium of Light.

Welbeck, who was on loan to Preston last season, will be brought in as back up to provide competition for Campbell, Waghorn and Noble up front.

Welbeck, 19, will also be some good cover for the right wing position if ever needed by Bruce in an injury crisis.

The deal has not been confirmed yet but it looks very likely to happen in the next 48 hours according to reliable sources inside the club and media.
