Breaking News: Bruce Goes For Bramble

SkySports are reporting tonight that Sunderland are on the verge of announcing the signing of Wigan defender and former Newcastle United misfit, Titus Bramble.

Rumours are circulating of a medical taking place and Sky are reporting a £1M bid being accepted by Wigan.

The move is sure to cause major controversy with fans as he has often been derided due to his defensive mishaps in the past and his time with our bitter rivals.

Bramble won player of the year awards in 2008/09 and was awarded with a new 4 year contract by Wigan last summer.

If the signing is confirmed tomorrow, Bramble will become Steve Bruce's fourth summer signing after Riveros, Mignolet & Al Muhammadi.

What are your thoughts on this controversial move?

1m is an insult to the Wigan fans in all honesty.... besides we could be getting a great CB in Antolin Alcaraz. With Gohouri, could be a pretty solid partnership as Gohouri did OK last season and when Caldwell is fit, it'll be OK for us. He's a good player Bramble but I'll reserve judgment until I see it officially!

Not a chance... Think about it on SSN they where talking about us signing McArthur and then basically went 'Oh yeah and Sunderland are gettin Bramble'. SSN would go on more about Sunderland signing someone than Wigan signing a player. It a load of ********* to fill up time!!

fee now thought to be around 750,000 which isn't too bad as long as he's not still making mistake after mistake
