Jones Joins Potters

Sunderland have sold striker Kenwyne Jones to Stoke City for £8M rising to £10M with add ons.

The shock transfer of the summer came to light yesterday when rumours circulated of a Stoke offer being accepted. This has now been confirmed and the news will give the likes of Fraizer Campbell and Martyn Waghorn the chance to force themselves in to the first 11.

Jones scored 26 goals for Sunderland since joining in 2007 but it is his all round play that Sunderland will miss most.

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce will now be judged on how he spends the money paid by Stoke.

What do you think of todays big news? Who would you like to replace Jones?

Thank god he has gone and before I get the barrage of were doomed just look at the facts. In the premiership his goals have won us 5-6 points his 9 goals can easly come from one of the other strikers we have I can see Waghorn etting that many in the first half of the season alone. 8Mill is a great figure I would like to see Bruce give Campbell,Waggy and Noble a shot with Bent nd if nothing clicks spend the 8 million in January on Cole or Santa Cruz but lets abandon the tried and failed metod of long ball to the 7ft lazy streak and play a grounded paced game 'blitzkrieg football' use our strikers speed and cunning because we have frightening pace if we use it.
Tucky
With nzogbia being constantly linked 2 us, and us already having al-muhammadi both great crossers of the ball, we have just sold one of the best headers of the ball in the premiership. I'm not totally against the selling of kenwyne but the money we have recieved must be spent well.
