Welbeck Having Medical At Sunderland

Welbeck Having Medical At Sunderland

The England U21 forward has arrived on Wearside today to complete his long anticipated loan deal to join Sunderland this season.

Welbeck, 19, who featured in England U21 2-0 win on Wednesday will be looking to add depth to the Wearside club and help support Bent and Campbell in the early stages of the season.

Steve Bruce has admitted that Welbeck is not the direct replacement for Jones departure yesterday. However, he did reveal in an interview before the opening game that he will chase the signature of Craig Bellamy.

In other news that have just broken on Sky Sports News, transfer target Charles N'Zogbia has handed in a transfer request to leave Wigan Athletic.

As soon as any more news unfolds we will be first to let you know on Vital Sunderland.
