'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Return Of The Rock

John Mensah has declared himself 'ready' for the clash against Wigan Athletic this weekend after he returned back to full training.

Mensah, captain of Ghana, who will look forward to linking up with his National team mate Asamoah Gyan, will look likely to start alongside new signing Titus Bramble.

Michael Turner is also recovering well from his nasty tackle which led to him receiving ankle ligament but this game could come too soon for the young centre back.

Mensah needs to be careful during training in order to make sure he does not tweak any more injuries in the build up to the game but should be able to start for SAFC.

Sunderland are looking to overcome their awful away form which has seen them only record one victory in 19 away games.
