Can Lads End Anfield Jinx?

Sunderland will go to Anfield tommorrow (3pm KO) hoping to continue their three game unbeaten record in the league but if history is anything to go by it will be difficult.

Sunderland have lost their last four trips to the red half of Merseyside since drawing 0-0 in 2002. We have failed to score there in a decade of football since Kevin Phillips' memorable long range strike on the exact corresponding weekendten years ago. The game ended 1-1.

We would have to go a lot further back to find our last win at the Kop. 26 years to be precise. Gary Rowell's goal was enough to see off Liverpool in 1983.

Can Steve Bruce's men get a much awaited result from Roy Hodgson's faltering team?
