Sent to Coventry on opening day...

Sunderland will begin life in the Championship with an away game at Coventry.

The first game of the season will kick off on Saturday 5th August, with a home game against Birmingham only 3 days later on the Tuesday night.

Other notable fixtures include a home tie against Leeds United on boxing day while Leicester entertain us on New Years Day.

Sunderland's final game of the season will be away at Luton Town on Sunday, May 6th.

i think this will be quite an exciting opening game. but we always seem to get coventry the first game of the season is tht correct???

now you mention it i do remember getting them the season we finished 3rd i think? when reid was manager there.

It looks like the road to the midlands wil be a well worn one for you this season. I think you need to get a good start to have a chance of coming straight back.

yeah, get a decent first game, it could of been a dismall trip to the ground of colchester, for example
