'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Youngster pens deal....

Local lad Grant Leadbitter committed his future to the club yesterday by signing a new 2-year deal.

Speculation had been rife that he would be leaving his hometown club after he rejected the club's first offer, however his agent always maintained that Leadbitter wished to stay at the club.

With Chairman-elect Niall Quinn already having made one signing, Defender Kenny Cunningham, and set to oversee the sales of Kelvin Davis and Julio Arca, the new man in charge has made it clear he is ready to make big changes in personnel.

However retaining the club's best youth players is one of Quinn's main priorities, and he, along with the fans, will be relieved to have secured Leadbitter for another 2 years.

Leadbitter told the club's official website: 'It's good to get things sorted and I'm looking forward to the new season.'
