'If It's Football, It's Vital'

What The Gaffer Said

Manager Steve Bruce was happy to see familiar faces return against York City FC as the return of Bramble, Turner, Richardson and Cattermole all returned back to action.

Bruce said: 'Bruce said: "From my point of view, it was great to see Titus Bramble and Michael Turner back on the pitch again and getting through 90 minutes.

"Yes they were ring-rusty, but the most important thing is that they are back playing again.

"They were a massive miss for us last season when they were out, and having them back - along with Kieran Richardson and Lee Cattermole, let`s not forget, who were also coming back from injury - that`s massive for us."

It's pleasing to see Turner, Bramble, Richardson and Cattermole all back in the starting eleven. And even more so that they came through the 90 minutes unscathed.
