Bruce Splits Squad For Friendlies

Sunderland face Hartlepool on Tuesday and then Darlington on Wednesday so Steve Bruce is mixing it up in order to keep everyone as fresh as possible.

It is believed that players like Phil Bardsley, Wes Brown, Lee Cattermole, Jack Colback, Ahmed Elmohamady, Anton Ferdinand, Asamoah Gyan, Seb Larsson, Simon Mignolet, Kieran Richardson and Stephane Sessegnon will all feature on Tuesday.

Meanwhile Titus Bramble, Craig Gardner, Ji Dong-won, Steed Malbranque, Michael Turner, David Vaughan, Keiren Westwood and Connor Wickham will make the short trip to Darlington.

This is a great idea by Bruce as he looks to shake more cobwebs off the players as they reach peak fitness before the season starts in only 12 days time.
