George McCartney Joins West Ham

Sunderland have allowed West Ham to take George McCartney for the second time on a season long loan today.

McCartney, who spent last season on loan to Leeds is still on Sunderland's books but this move may allow Steve Bruce to add a few more players before the start of the season.

'The West Ham fans are fantastic and it's brilliant to be coming back.' McCartney told the club website.

'It will be great to be playing for a club like West Ham. It's a big opportunity for me and I can't wait to get started.'

Now it will be interesting to see if Bruce tries to get either Niko Kranjcar or Craig Bellamy now he has more money to play with and hinting he isn't finished in the market yet.
