Murph next to sign on...

Darly Murphy is the next to grab a new contract as he signs joins Whitehead and Lawrence and signs on for 5 years.

The big Irishman, who only signed for Sunderland last summer, is another player to benefit from Quinn's arrival and has been rewarded for some impressive pre-season performances.

The former Waterford striker said,

'I'm absolutely delighted to sign my new deal.

'Five years is a long contract so I'm grateful to the manager - he's shown faith in me and I want to repay that by scoring goals and doing well for the team.'

So Quinn continues with his policy of tieing down the club's best young players, and was happy to have Daryl join the ever-growing list,

'I've been really warmed by Daryl's attitude and commitment. He's done fantastically well and, like Liam and Dean, things are really happening for him.

'He's had a tremendous pre-season and he's someone who is going to get better and better - and we'll reap the benefits.

'I've been hugely impressed by him and his attitude has been excellent. He's applied himself really well in training and in games, and you can see that he wants his career to take off.'
