Bruce: 'A fair result'

Bruce: 'A fair result'

Steve Bruce understandably pointed to the form of Mark Schwarzer today when asked why his side had failed to score.

The big Australian was in top-form to prevent the Black Cats scoring and Bruce was quick to acknowledge his impressive display when speaking to the Official Site:

'It was a great save and to be fair Mark Schwarzer has done that for years.

'When you look at the Fulham team, they're a good side. They've been in the Barclays Premier League for years and you can see why.

'For 70 minutes we did very well. There were lots of good things about the game.

'If we had scored rather than hit the bar twice in the first half then it's a different game.'

Wigan at home next for the Black Cats and something of a 'must win' clash against one of the league's poorest outfits.
