Thee scholars offered pro' deals with SAFC
Sunderland have today announced that three of their second year academy scholars have been offered professional contracts.
Anthony Callaghan, Jordan Laidler and Connor Oliver have all been offered professional deals at the Stadium of Light having reached the end of the scholarships.
Callaghan, a left-back, was a regular for the academy side and also made eight appearances for Keith Bertschin's reserve side.
North Shields-born forward Laidler also represented the second string eight times, as well as notching eight goals for Kevin Ball's U18 side, making him top-scorer.
Finally, right-back Oliver made two starts for the reserves having featured prominently for the U18's.
Goalkeeper Joel Dixon has had an offer to extend his scholarship for a further year.
Midfielder James Brace and striker Adam Mitchell penned professional deals during the course of the season leaving Joel Dixon and Jordan Lavender as the only second-year scholars to be released.
