'Noble too hard on himself' says Cooper

Sunderland youngster Ryan Noble is 'too hard on himself' according to Hartlepool United boss Neale Cooper.

The 21 year-old forward is currently on-loan at Pools for the second time after spending the final months of last term of Victoria Park.

Noble is yet to score for United during his second spell on Teesside, and after impressing on his return to the club, the forward has become frustrated with his own performances since, culminating in his 58th minute withdrawal against Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

Speaking to The Journal, Cooper admitted that there was more to come from the Black Cats' prospect:

Ryan didn`t look like himself on Saturday. It was his body language. I asked him if he was feeling okay,' revealed Cooper.

"He did fine in first game with us, but maybe that was his adrenalin that took him through because he hadn`t played a lot of football before then.

"He`s very hard on himself is Ryan, which he has to stop and I have said that to him. It doesn`t do him any favours.'

Noble is due to remain with Pools until the end of the month.
