O'Neill: 'We should have got something'
Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill was adamant that his side should have taken something from the Hawthorns on Saturday as they went down 2-1 to West Bromwich Albion.
A goal in either half from Romelua Lukaku did the damage, the Belgian rolling home a penalty and scoring with a luck deflection before Stephane Sessegnon's late consolation.
Speaking afterwards to the Official Sunderland site, O'Neill said Sunderland had been unlucky.
"I thought we should have got something from the game; we created a lot of chances,' stated O'Neill.
"We conceded a goal from a penalty and the second [goal] was bizarre,' continued the Ulsterman.
O'Neill also reserved praise for goal-scorer Sessegnon, described as excellent as he got his fourth of the season:
'We didn't have a great deal of luck in and around the penalty area ourselves and we should have taken more from what Stephane Sessegnon created. He scored a great goal himself.
"Stephane was excellent today; top-quality in the second half."
Sunderland are at home to Fulham next Saturday.
