The search for a new keeper has seen Dutch and Swedish internationals among the links, with it an Italian (not international though) that has apparently been decided upon?
Vito Mannone, as far as Sky Sports "understands", is close to completing a move to Sunderland from Arsenal.
Mannone has looked ok during loan spells with Barnsley and Hull, but has been limited to just 15 appearances for Arsenal since his arrival from Atalanta in 2005 and is nowhere near the no.1 spot at the Emirates.
Talks will take place next week with Paolo Di Canio keen to bring his countryman to the Stadium of Light.
