Villas-Boas Brags About Gifted Win At Sunderland

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas watched his side scrape through the game with Sunderland on Saturday and declared that Spurs were now over the defeat against Man City.

But in real life it took a mistake and an own goal from the Black Cats to hand victory to the Londoners, not to mention the home side being denied a stone wall penalty which in some way must have helped his side.

Admittedly Tottenham looked a better side after the half time interval, but when you lose a game because of an own goal and the refusal of a penalty, it's really quite hard to see what the Tottenham manager had to brag about really, after all, we are the bottom club, and it was a far from convincing win.

"The players were absolutely outstanding," said Villas-Boas on Sky Sports.

"They achieved a great, great win. I think the result is entirely deserved and puts us back on track near the top where we wanted to be.

"It`s a great win for Tottenham and a great fight back from the Manchester City result."

Tottenham now sit in sixth place, still needing three points to take over Man City's Champions League winning fourth place.

Well, it was a battering in all but the final score. I think he is more referring to the performance than the final result.

just watched motd from last night, words fail me, didnt realise how blatent a penner that was from the ground and the positioning of the ref is ****ing disgusting
I know you;re on a wind up but that was men against boys....we were terrible. We got gifted a goal and still lost easily. Spurs are poor creativly but could easily have scored 6 ....everyone must stop defending the lads on dire performances of which that was one.

Get your head out of the sand, Spurs were far the better team, look at the stats, the only way Spurs failed was because they did put put away 4 or 5 of their many many chances, One of the Sunderland players blatantly wrapped his arms around a Tottenham player in the Sunderland penalty area during a Spurs corner which should have been a penalty, yes I agree that Sandros accidental ball to arm should have been a penalty but the REF had a poor game throughout which worked both ways so stop whinging about yet another loss, stop looking at the performance of the winning opposition and look at your own teams bad performance, Poyet will get it right!
Dont know what all that said that yid wrote because i got bored after the first line. But he must be upset about something bless him.
