No Deal For Wickham, But The Chase Is On.
Connor Wickham has rejected a new contract offer at Sunderland.
The Black Cats have tabled a contract that would increase the 21 year old's wage and keep him at the Stadium of Light for the next three years.
But even though the striker has turned down the offer, Sunderland are not too disappointed and see it more as a beginning spot for negotiations to take place.
Despite interest from Southampton and Leicester City, Sunderland are looking to tie Wickham down to a new contract, rather than lose him at the end of his current deal which has entered it's last twelve months.
So the game of cat and mouse begins with Wickham's agent keen to get the best deal possible for his man.
