Black Cats In For McGeady?
Having worked so successfully with Sunderland boss Simon Grayson at Preston last season links with Everton's former Celtic forward Aiden McGeady make perfect sense.
Expected to be a player of keen interest to Grayson the Republic of Ireland international, 31, could soon complete a transfer to the Stadium of Light.
A permanent transfer is anticipated, as our friends at Vital Everton inform us:
Everton and Sunderland conducted several deals last season when former Blues boss David Moyes was in charge - they'll do another when Aiden McGeady seals a permanent transfer to the Stadium of Light.
According to the BBC, McGeady, who doesn't have a future at Goodison Park, will link up with Simon Grayson, his boss at Preston during a loan spell last season.
McGeady was signed in January 2014 from Russian club Spartak Moscow but has only managed 41 appearances and scored one goal for Everton.
A less than successful loan at Sheffield Wednesday the season before last was followed up by one at Preston - he played 35 games and scored eight goals - during the last campaign when he won the Player of the Year award.
Capped 90 times by the Republic of Ireland, McGeady, 31, has a year left on his current contract at Goodison.

Sunderland, having just announced the arrival of one Everton player, Brendan Galloway on a season-long loan deal, doing further business with the Premier League side for McGeady not only makes sense but would be likely.
We'll see what comes of this, if anything?
