Etuthu to improve with Sunderland

Sunderland`s Dickson Etuhu is looking to improve as a player at Sunderland under the tutorage of Roy Keane. The Nigerian International says there is more to come from his teammates and himself.

He told the daily mail "It was hard watching the Blackburn game. But it was a good thing, because I am still not myself yet - and actually watching the game made me realise there is a lot more I should be doing."

'The manager has told me that as well, that I should be on the ball a lot more and trying to dominate my position a lot more - which I am looking forward to doing."

'I have started off quite safe and I have not expressed myself yet - and I am looking forward to proving that side of it."

'I am happy - but I could be a lot happier. I do not think I have adapted as well as I think I should."

'But these things take time. I have to settle and get used to the new league.'

'It's great. I look forward to every game, I look forward to testing myself - and I am learning with every game and learning every day in training.'

'I can sense it in every game, in every training session - everyone is getting used to and understanding each other's movement.'

'When you play in a new team, you have to gel and get that team spirit the gaffer is trying to get into the camp - and we are getting that by the day.'

'I am sure we will be better and better every week.'

Editors Comment

Dickson has been one Keane`s better summer signings but he might find his way back in to the first team blocked by the form of Yorke, Leadbitter and Miller. I feel we are very strong in central midfield its just a shame we haven`t got the same type of competition for the wings.
