'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Edwards out for another 6 weeks

Just 3 weeks after the much anticipated return of first team football for Carlos Edwards, the tricky winger has reportedly broken his fibula during the recent victory over Derby City.

This comes as devastating news to both player (who has missed most of this season through injury) and fans (for whom he was the star of the promotion campaign last season). A quote from the player's agent, Mike Berry, who told TTFF Media states:

'The good thing is that it's a clean break, with no other complications as such, so it will take him about six weeks before he can be back on the pitch."

"But as the saying goes here in Trinidad, it seems like the guy needs a good bush bath because he has the worst run of injuries in the past year that he's had in ten years or so."

"It's been a nightmare for him. He got over the hamstring injury and came back and then got injured again. The one good thing about Carlos is he's a class player so we have to keep our fingers crossed that he does not have further injury problems."

"It's a clean break which means it will not take too long to heal and there are no ligament damage. We expect 4-6 weeks before he's back and he is still going to be ready for the Ash Wednesday game against Guadeloupe which he's looking forward to.'

Edwards told Euro Sport 'It wasn't the start I was hoping for in the Premiership with the injury but these things happen and I have just got to move on and try to catch my form again after the injury heals. It took me three months to get back into the team and I must say this taught me a lot. I was patient before and now I have to wait a bit more again.'

Gutted!!!!!

A big blow for you guys. What do you think of the news surrounding Daryl Murphy's £2m move to QPR? A loss or good money for an over-rated forward?
