Sunderland Midfielder Will Be A Miss

Sunderland Midfielder Will Be A Miss

Sunderland`s Dickson Euthu` s has been called up for the Nigeria squad and look sets to miss all of Sunderland`s games in January. Euthu who was only recently recalled to the Nigerian squad by Berti Vogts will be a big miss to the club.

Sunderland manager Roy Keane told safc.com "Of course it's bad news but it's out of our hands. There are a lot of clubs worse off than us, some have four or five players away."

"We're disappointed because the size of the squad here isn't the biggest and injuries or people away is the last thing we need."

"But Dickson's been doing well and you can't stop a player going away and representing his country, we wish him well. Hopefully they will get knocked out quickly and he'll be back with us!"

"When we signed Dickson we knew what we were getting ourselves into, we knew he could be called up for this tournament. It could be at a better time of year but as I say, we're not the worst hit."

Editors Comment

Dickson is going to be a miss but I feel we have more than enough midfielders to fill his boots. Kavanagh should be playing in my opinion, He can get hold of the ball in midfield and doesn`t give it away to cheaply. Etuhu, Whitehead and Yorke are all guilty of giving the ball away to cheaply.
