Sunderland vs. Birmingham

Stadium of light

29th January 2008

20:00

Sunderland V Birmingham

Birmingham city will provide the opposition for Roy Keane`s Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this Tuesday evening. Birmingham are a team that is hard working and well organised if we are going to have any chance of survival we need to win this fixture.

Sunderland Team News:

Phil Bardsley and Rade Prica are expected to make their debuts however other new boy Jean Yves M`voto is not likely to feature.

Carlos Edwards will not feature after breaking down in training during his recent attempt to comeback from injury.

Grant Leadbitter, Danny Higginbotham, Kieran Richardson, Ross Wallace,

Michael Chopra is suspended and Dickson Etuhu is at the Africa Cup Of Nations with Nigeria.

Player to watch: Dwight Yorke

Dwight will provide the class and quality balls that can give us the edge against Birmingham.

Birmingham Team News:

The game seems to have come to early for Birmingham`s new signing David Murphy.

However other new boys James McFadden and Mauro Zarate could feature at some stage.

Player to watch: Mikael Forssell

The Finn is always a threat and in my opinion the only player we would have off Birmingham if he were available
