Stoke 1 Sunderland 0

Sunderland were beaten by a Ricardo Fuller goal at the Britannia Stadium. Stoke threatened to score so many times from the long throw`s of Rory Delap and they eventually did when Fuller nodded in a 72nd minute goal.

Keane made only one change to the side that beat the mags at the weekend
with Bardsley coming in for Chimbonda.

In a very one sided game Stoke had the majority of chances their first almost the same as the eventually winner.

Fuller and Delap were both involved but Fuller fired his first shot straight at Fulop.

Fulop didn`t have to wait long for Stokes second chance when Olofinjana test him with a long range effort.

Fuller scored the only goal of the game from Delaps long throw in the 72nd minute.

Fuller them came close to doubling his tally but his shot hit the foot of the post.

Sunderland`s only real clear cut chance came when Richardson played Jones though into the box. Jones low shot was well saved by Sorensen.
