Scunthorpe 1 Sunderland 0

Michael Chopra and Dickson Etuhu made their debuts today against the Iron`s. Sunderland also played Jack Pelter a triallist from New Zealand. Former Sunderland Goalkeeper Joe Murphy was playing for the Iron`s and was in fine form. Sunderland were sloppy defensively and didn`t have the cutting edge needed to get back in the game.

Scunthorpe scored an early goal 2 minutes after kick off. The Irons new signing Martin Paterson scoring the only goal of the game. Sunderland then piled the pressure on the Irons only for Joe Murphy to be equal to everything.

Keano made several changes at half time but Sunderland still could not breakdown a stubborn Scunthorpe side.

A quality perforance from the goalkeeper

Are we good enough?

I know this was only a preseason friendly but if we can't even get draw against Scunthorpe, How will we fair against the big boys in the Premiership?
I just hope that when we have our quality wingers playing we will be more of a threat (Richardson and Edwards).
