Sunderland 1 Juventus 1

Sunderland played their last friendly before the start of the new season against Juventus as the club celebrated 10 years of football at the SOL.

Sunderland started off brightly with Mcshane coming close with a header destined for the back of the net only for Buffon to tip it over the bar.

Sunderland scored from the resulting corner when Etuhu`s header found Murphy about 2 yards out.

Juventus tested the Sunderland`s defence frequently throughout the game but it managed to stand up to the test until Juventus equalised in the 87th minute with Molinaro spoiling the party.

Stokes had a chance to retake the lead for Sunderland but his driven shot hit the post

Going of this performance we can take some comfort knowing we more than matched a team of Juventus quality. We looked strong defensively and lively in attack can`t wait to see how we manage next week against Spurs.
