Referee:

Our first defeat of the season it had to come sooner or later but we simply didn`t get out of first gear.

Wigan`s first goal came from Heskey a tap in after Valencia`s cross came off McShane.

Yorke and Stokes were both replaced at half time after a first half to forget.

Their second came when Landzaat slotted home a penalty after Collins held Sibierski in the box.

Their third was another penalty converted by Sibierski when sub Russell Anderson was late for a tackle on Heskey.

Craig Gordon - The score could have been even more embarrassing had it not been for the goalkeeper

Match Comment

An awful display was rewarded with exactly what we dissevered nothing. Wigan were by far the better side. We just played awful and the score should have been more had it not been for some great saves from Gordon.

I didn't expect to be beaten as easily as we were. We were rubbish we need to get rid of the likes of yorke.
