Sunderland suffered a cup defeat at the first hurdle for the second year running. Luton pulled off an upset by beating Roy Keane`s side 3 nil. Luton were the better team and deserved to win, they totally outclassed the premiership side who are two league above them.


Luton`s first goal was scored by David Bell his free kick beat the wall and Ward

Paul Furlong got the Hatters second when he lobbed Ward after a great timed run.

Greg Halford was then sent of for his second yellow card of the evening.

Paul Furlong then netted his second to compound the blackcats misery he got on the end of a loose ball from a David Bell free kick to slot home from close range.

What a load of rubbish none of the Sunderland team seemed to turn up. The away supporter`s must have wished they hadn`t bothered travelling as well. Come on Keano sort this rubbish out.
