Sunderland 1 Newcastle 1

The Wear Tyne derby ended as a score draw that should have maybe finished 3-1 to Sunderland.

Sunderland totally dominated the play and will be rueing missed chances after James Milners cross come shot gifted the Mags with a share of the points.

Chopra`s should have scored in the first half after he turned on the edge of the area before unleashing shot across the face of goal which after Harper did well to save.

Jones had a good chance in the second half when he got on the end of Wallace`s cross only for his header to be denied by Harper.

Danny Higginbotham scored Sunderland`s goal. Jones took a short corner to Leadbitter. Danny was on hand to head home a Leadbitter`s cross at the back post.

Milner scores a lucky goal when his cross come shot sneaks on at the far post.

Chopra then managed to hit the bar with his shot from close range after a good corner from Harte.

Sunderland are unlucky again and it is more like two points dropped than one point gained.

Match Comment

We could do with some of the luck Alladyce a Co have. But how many more times this season will I have to write about how well we played and how much we deserved to win. We have to start putting our chances away or we are going to end up struggling with the Boro.

You seemed to sit back a little after going 1-0 up. You still had enough chances to win the game though and Newcastle's equaliser wa lucky.

That Joey Barton is nothing but a disgrace. Like to have seen him do that assult kick on Roy Keane. See how long he would have lasted then. Horrible player that Barton!!
Real Deal
Draw was on the cards but you really should have won the game. Created more than them but need to put your chances away when you get them.
will it ever happen
cant believe you guys let such a huge HUGE win slip thru your fingers, i knew your trouble them, but didnt think they had the minerals to get back into it..
