Pacey right-back-cum-winger who initially joined the club on loan in the summer of 2010 before making his move permanent 12 months later for 2m.

His energetic performances down the right-hand side saw him make 36 appearances for the Black Cats during his first season at SOL without scoring.

'Elmo' opened his account for the club with a goal in the 2-2 draw with West Brom on September 1 2011.

After falling out of favour at the club following Martin O'Neill's appointment, Elmohamady moved to Hull City on a season-long loan on August 30 2012.

On January 16 2013, Elmohamady was re-called by Martin O'Neill before returning to the KC Stadium on-loan on January 31.
